Friday 14th June…
…saw the 20th annual Macmillan Golf Day, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, return to the prestigious Cirencester Golf Club.
200 players, across 51 teams, took to the course to enjoy a wonderful day of friendly competition, with an auction, raffle, and musical entertainment carrying the event late into the evening.
Thanks to the success of the auction and raffle, as well as the generous support of over 70 local and national companies, the total raised was an incredible £25,881 – enough to pay for 5 Macmillan Nurses for 1 month, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
Colin Harrison of the Macmillan Golf Day Committee said: “For the last twenty years, the Committee has come together with the aim of raising as much money as possible for a fantastic cause whilst trying to give everyone the best day possible.”
“The day really is a testament to the wonderful community that’s been created over the last twenty years to support such a treasured charity, providing vital support to people and families in the South West whose lives have been affected by cancer,” commented Committee member, Jo Risby.
