Job Description:  Service / Small Works Engineer

Field based engineering role carrying out preventative maintenance’s, callouts, small works

Main duties:

  • Working within and adherence /compliance to all Health and Safety standards, CIA quality System procedures and NSI engineering standards.
  • Servicing and maintaining electronic security and fire systems.
  • Callouts and small works to electronic security and fire systems.
  • Takeovers and upgrades for electronic security and fire systems.
  • To identify and classify upgrade opportunities whilst on client sites.
  • To advise clients of any compliance issues, and recommendations.
  • To manage tasks via a PDA , mobile and emails.
  • To report regularly and concisely with service coordinators.
  • To provide after-hours callout via a rota system.
  • To support other CIA engineering task as required.
  • To ensure all your CIA equipment is kept in a compliant , and clean condition.
  • Any other related works the company deems relevant to the position.

Skills required:

  • Health and safety training records, ECS / CSCS
  • At least 3 years working as an Engineer.
  • Apprenticeship training records.
  • FIA /equivalent qualifications.
  • Relevant sector experience / qualifications.
  • IT hardware/software experience / qualifications.
  • Proactive problem solving abilities.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Must be able to pass a CRB/DBS check.
  • To be able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent time keeping.
  • To be able to maintain all provided company equipment.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • To be able to train/inspire/mentor CIA apprentices.

Job Description:  Installation Engineer

To install, commission and handover electronic security and fire systems. Providing our clients with a first class service throughout and maintaining the highest standards.

Main Duties:

  • Installation, commissioning and handover of fire and electronic security systems.
  • Working within and adherence /compliance to all Health and Safety standards, CIA quality system procedures and NSI engineering standards.
  • To liaise/communicate any variances found/requested by clients to their Coordinator.
  • To project manage workload as requested by their coordinator.
  • To accurately record all information including commissioning results.
  • To be able to diagnose systems faults and audit work done by others.
  • To manage tasks via a PDA , mobile and emails.
  • To provide after-hours callout via a rota system.
  • To carry out any other duties requested that are appropriate for their skill set.

Position: Alarm Response Officer

The CIA Alarm Response Team provides an invaluable first response service for all our clients, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Main responsibilities include:

  • First response to intruder / fire alarm activation’s
  • To patrol and secure the premises of business clients
  • Locking and unlocking duties
  • Keyholding
  • Incident logging
  • General admin duties

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment
  • Self-starter used to working by themselves
  • Flexible
  • Reliable
  • Observant and diligent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have a clean driving license
  • No criminal record
  • Non smoker

Desirable Qualities:

  • Previous security experience is not essential but would be beneficial
  • Current SIA license
  • Full training for the role will be given

Salary and Hours:

This position is a total of 42 hours made up of evening, night and weekend shifts.

Flexibility is essential, shift patterns may change at short notice and the successful candidate will be required to help cover holidays and sickness. You will be required to work bank holidays.

The holiday entitlement for this role is the equivalent of 28 days inc Bank Holidays.

The salary will be dependent on the candidate.
